This picture taken from inside the lower cockpit of the Ilyushin 76 (it has two, and upper one and a lower one) shows the view from the navigator's seat. Landing in this seat is something spectacular, as are the zero-g parabolas. All the old navigation equipment has been replaced by a single state-of-the-art GPS receiver, which gives the navigator a colour map of the area, and pinpoints the location of the plane. |
